Welcome to IB!

Whether you are considering IB, new to the program, or halfway through your first year and confused about everything, this is the place for you.

What is IB?

HELL. Just kidding, it's actually not that bad. In reality, it's just a rigorous academic program with a strong emphasis on writing. Be ready for a challenge.

IB English and History

IB History and IB English are 2-year long courses that every IB student is required to complete in order to receive their diploma.

Internal Assessments (IA)

IAs, generally, are a medium length paper that you write for every IB course. IA requirements differ greatly based on the class it is being written for.

Extended Essay (EE)

The EE is an incredibly long paper that you write between 11th and 12th grade. It can be on any subject of your choice, so try to choose something you know a lot about.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

TOK is a one-semester course about the acquisition of knowledge that you take during both years of IB. It’s mostly discussion-based, with two large assignments.

Creativity Activity Service (CAS)

The title says it all. IB requires students to have a cumulative 150 hours of creativity, activity, and service. Each IB student must also conduct one CAS project.

IB Exams

Every IB course has a final exam that determines your overall score towards the IB diploma. They are graded between 1-7 because IB refuses to be normal.

The IB Diploma

If you are a full IB student, the IB diploma is the collective result of all your effort over the last two years. You need a total of 24 points to receive it.
